Psalm 47:6 instructs us to “Sing praises to God, sing praises . . .”
Far back in Jewish history, in Tabernacle and Temple worship, God appointed musicians and priests to serve in order to worship and glorify God. When the early church was birthed by the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, they too met together to rejoice and praise the Lord through music and song. The Apostle Paul told the church (and us!) in Colossians 3:16 to…“Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” What a joy and privilege to practice his admonition.
At McGrawsville we believe that music is an integral part of each and every service. The Music Department’s goal is to lead the people of McGrawsville in true worship each week. The weekly worship teams encourage and challenge the people of McGrawsville in their walk with God through song and scripture. The Music Department is comprised of musicians, singers, a seasonal choir, and sound and media personnel.
